Join us in congratulating Karlee Rodrigues ’18GS, ’20SOA on her role in bringing Mr. Nobody Against Putin (2025), this year’s Academy Award winner for Best Documentary Feature, to audiences around the country!

Rodrigues works on the business side of acquisition and distribution for Kino Lorber, one of the leading international arthouse independent film distributors. This was her team’s third consecutive Oscar nomination. "Third time’s a charm!” she remarked. “I love storytelling, and I love sharing films across borders. It has been an absolute honor to work on this release and be part of these films’ distribution journeys."

The team’s previous Oscar nominations for Soundtrack to a Coup d'Etat (2025) and Four Daughters (2024) represent Rodrigues's continued commitment to international storytelling across borders. Mr. Nobody Against Putin, directed by David Borenstein and Pavel Talankin, follows a teacher documenting his work with students while the Putin administration works to control public perception in the war against Ukraine.

The alumna, who continued her film education at the Columbia School of the Arts after graduating from GS, is excited by all this accomplishment means. “I’m beyond thrilled and proud to have contributed to bringing extraordinary international documentaries to North American audiences.”
