Types of Financial Aid

Students at the School of General Studies may be eligible to receive scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study. Financial aid may come from GS, federal and state governments, or private sources.

The GS Office of Educational Financing, located in 408 Lewisohn, administers all financial aid for GS students, including institutional, federal, and state aid.

Types of Aid

Institutional Scholarships

GS scholarships are available to full- and part-time students.

Federal and State Grants

Federal and State grants do not need to be repaid, and are usually need-based.

Loans

GS administers both federal and private education loans.

Outside funding options for GS students.

Student Employment

Student employment may include Federal Work-Study and other on-campus opportunities.
