The event was standing room only and drew over 50 students, all eager to learn the tools needed to successfully tackle the case interview—a staple in the hiring process for careers in any of the consulting fields.
In the first hour, Brad Aspel ’06BUS, Columbia Business School Director of MBA Career Education and Advising and former McKinsey consultant, taught students the nuts and bolts of how to analyze cases and provide immediate solutions. The second hour provided GS students with the unique opportunity to "crack a case" in small discussion groups led by GS alumni: Matan Ariel ’06GS, ’11BUS; Mason C. Beard ’04GS, ’09BUS, Elle Littlefield ’12GS, John Réal ’06GS, and Helen Shor ’12GS. Afterward, students and alumni discussed the case at hand well into the evening.
