Recent alumni from all four schools boarded the USS Intrepid on Friday night for cocktails and dancing. On Saturday, alumni from all years returned to campus for a full day of events and activities. This year the Public Intellectual Lectures focused on the theme of science and innovation and included panels of distinguished faculty and alumni. The afternoon lectures were each focused on a core curriculum class and followed by afternoon tea in the GS Lounge with the Dean Peter J. Awn.

The Dean’s Day Lunch was held at Faculty House on Saturday afternoon. Joining alumni were several University faculty and administrators including Deputy Vice President for Alumni Relations Louise Rosen, Executive Vice President for Arts and Sciences Nicholas Dirks, and Dean Awn.

Reunion Committee Co-Chair Elaine Bernstein ’72 welcomed guests and acknowledged the University officials who attended the lunch. Rosen, Dirks, and Awn all spoke about the impact that the School has on student and alumni communities across the University.

In the evening Reunion celebrants attended a wine tasting on Low Plaza before gathering in Faculty House for a special cocktail reception and dinner. A highlight of the evening was the alumni panel discussion Turning Points. Lucille Roussin ’69, Nancy Curtin ’87, Christopher Riano ’07, and Richard Baldassari ’13 shared their experiences on campus during key points in the history of the School of General Studies and Columbia University.

The Reunion dinner was followed by the Starlight Reception on Low Plaza where all alumni and guests were invited to enjoy dessert and champagne as they celebrated the final moments of Reunion.
