Kristine Huskey '92GS Clinical Professor of Law and the Director of the Veterans Advocacy Law Clinic at the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law, where she also teaches constitutional law, international human rights law, and the law of armed conflict. She is also the Director of Arizona Law’s Clinical Program—home to 17 clinics. She was the founding director of the National Security Clinic at the University of Texas School of Law and taught in the international human rights clinics at Washington College of Law American University and George Washington University Law School. Professor Huskey has also taught at Georgetown University Law Center and Victoria University Law School in Wellington, New Zealand, among other law schools. She was a litigator with Shearman & Sterling LLP in Washington D.C. for several years and has appeared before the U.S. Supreme Court, representing Guantanamo detainees in Rasul and Boumediene. Huskey chronicled her experiences of challenging the US Government during the early Post-9/11 years and visiting the Guantanamo Detention Center in Justice at Guantanamo: One Women’s Odyssey and Her Crusade for Human Rights. Professor Huskey and her Veterans Clinic students recently filed an amicus brief with the Supreme Court in support of a veteran. She currently researches and writes on issues involving Veterans Treatment Courts, Tribal Healing to Wellness Courts, Native American Veterans, and Restorative Justice. In 2020, she received the Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame’s Copper Sword Award, which is the highest honor given to a civilian for their efforts to support veterans.

Rob Patenaude ’99GS. '02LAW Principal and Associate General Counsel at Bessemer Trust is responsible for providing legal counsel to the Alternative Investments group, advising the firm’s corporate real estate team, drafting policies and procedures, and approving the distribution of marketing materials. He also serves as the firm’s Assistant Secretary. Before joining Bessemer, Rob was in private practice at Cravath, Swaine & Moore. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association. He previously served in the United States Marine Corps as an Infantry Rifleman and Marine Security Guard. Rob earned a J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone scholar, and a B.A. in economics, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from the School of General Studies.
