Position Description
Laura Berner, PhD is seeking two volunteers to help with recruitment and/or data entry for studies focused on the neurobiology of bulimic symptoms.
Recruitment responsibilities include:
- Using IRB-approved avenues
- Posting flyers (at minimum on their respective college campus)
- Creating new designs for study ads and social media campaigns
- Identifying new listservs and college clubs to contact
- Identifying new recruitment strategies
- Analyzing existing recruitment data
- Attending weekly recruitment meeting (~30 minutes)
- Sending summary of work sent to lab coordinators at the end of each week
- Checking email and Slack regularly and responding within a reasonable time frame
Research responsibilities include:
- Using IRB-approved and RB-approved avenues

Position Requirements
Recruitment Volunteer:
- Prior work experience with recruitment or marketing
- Experience with social media applications (i.e., Facebook, Instagram, TikTok)
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Ability to respond proactively to constructive feedback
Research Volunteer:
- Experience with database management (e.g., Excel, REDCap) and marketing or recruitment on social media applications (i.e., Facebook, Instagram, TikTok)
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Ability to respond proactively to constructive feedback
- Effective independent problem-solving skills and task prioritization
Time Commitment
Part-time
- Recruitment Volunteer: Minimum of three hours per week, with at least one hour spent posting flyers
- Research Volunteer: Minimum of five hours per week, with at least 1 hour spent posting flyers; minimum commitment of one year
