Position Description
The New York Brain Bank at Columbia University Medical Center is seeking a volunteer to help collect postmortem human brains to meet the needs of neuroscientists investigating neurological disorders.
Responsibilities include:
- Banking and organizing frozen post-mortem tissue
- Fulfilling tissue requests and requests for additional information on tissue
- Dissecting fixed brains for slide generation and diagnosis as well as organizing these materials for future research
- Involvement with education on brain banking
Position Requirements
- Being interested in neurological disease is a plus.
Time Commitment
Part-time (12+ hours per week), with a minimum commitment of one year.
