Position Description
Richard W Westreich MD PLLC of New Face NY is looking for a medical assistant/administrator to work at his fast-paced facial plastic surgery practice on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

Responsibilities include:

  • Triaging calls, scheduling appointments, obtaining pre-certification for procedures/surgeries, verifying insurance coverage and patient demographics, scanning documents, and managing/updating charts to ensure information is accurate and complete
  • Assisting providers as needed for treatments and in-office procedures
  • Working collaboratively and maintaining effective communication with patients to review all required pre- and post-operative/procedure requirements, following up as necessary
  • Working collaboratively with surgical team and all collaborating providers
  • Following up with patient paperwork for general patients and surgical patients
  • Promoting a positive patient experience
  • Working independently to prioritize, organize, and manage a daily assignment within the normal work period
  • Responding appropriately to emergencies
  • Communicating concerns/problems relating to patients and/or staff with management
  • Maintaining medical inventory
  • Managing insurance submissions and communications with the surgical team
  • Responding to patient emails and messages in Klara, our patient portal
  • Assisting in any projects that might be delegated

Position Requirements

  • Customer service experience/ability to develop rapport with patients
  • Ability to adapt quickly
  • Familiarity with medical insurance a plus
  • Prior receptionist experience a plus

Time Commitment
Part-time (Mondays and Fridays a must, with flexibility Tuesdays–Thursdays) or full-time (Mondays–Fridays)

Compensation
$20-24 per hour (including 10 days paid vacation and benefits available after 90-day onboarding period)
