Position Description
The Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) is seeking to hire a technician who will support orthopedic principal investigators with research projects, grant projects, and academic publications. This position involves significant patient interaction while working on clinical patient studies.
Responsibilities include:
- Obtaining questionnaires from pre- and post-operative patients (in hospital and by phone)
- Preparing follow-up schedules
- Entering patient data and assisting with statistical analysis, tabulation, and digital graphing of clinical results
Position Requirements
- Two years of college-level coursework with an emphasis in biology, chemistry, physics, or related science
- One year of related experience or the equivalent in education, training, and experience a plus
- Proficiency with PC and Apple computers, Windows environment, graphic and video software, and knowledge of digital video and video editing via computer a significant plus
- Research experience (basic science or clinical research) a plus
Time Commitment
Full-time (35 hours per week)
