Position Description
The Albert Einstein College of Medicine Department of Pediatrics/Children’s Hospital at Montefiore in the Bronx, New York is looking for an outstanding individual to work as a study coordinator starting in early July of 2024. 

The study coordinator will work with attendings in the Department of Pediatrics on a variety of clinical research projects, covering topics such as neonatology, critical care, and chronic disease. The coordinator will be working directly with the Chair of the department, allowing the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of how an academic children’s hospital operates. The coordinator will gain valuable clinical and research experience in preparation for a career in medicine. Additionally, the coordinator will serve as a resident team coordinator (RTC), functioning as a member of our hospital medicine teams and assisting with the non-clinical tasks required to provide our patients with holistic care. This position includes opportunities to play an active role on an inpatient clinical team.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Screening and enrolling research participants
  • Conducting research visits with patients and their families
  • Organizing regulatory documentation and IRB submissions
  • Data collection, entry, and management
  • Assisting in manuscript, abstract, and grant preparation
  • Opportunities to present at conferences
  • Frequent interaction with physicians, nurses, patients, and families
  • Opportunity to attend department conferences, lectures, and grand rounds
  • Serving as an interdisciplinary liaison between patients and multiple hospital services (nursing, radiology, social work, laboratory, pharmacy, subspecialties)
  • Supervising and coordinating our volunteer RTC team
  • Assisting in departmental event planning

Position Requirements

  • Strong academic record
  • Previous research experience a plus
  • Attention to detail, excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Flexibility within teams
  • Spanish proficiency a plus
  • Basic knowledge of statistics and/or statistical programs (ex. R, SPSS, SAS) a plus

Time Commitment
Full-time, minimum two-year commitment
