Position Description
The Division of Hand Surgery at NYU Langone Health, one of the largest academic and clinical divisions of its type in the nation, is seeking a motivated individual to join their research team as a Research Coordinator. Physicians in this division see a diverse range of conditions in patients of all ages, ranging from common conditions such as carpal tunnel to rare congenital hand deformities and acute traumatic injuries to chronic conditions. The Research Coordinator position involves collaborating with esteemed faculty on various retrospective and prospective clinical studies, contributing to advancements in hand-related conditions. 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing support to faculty in patient enrollment for clinical studies
  • Gathering critical data during patient follow-up visits
  • Ensuring accuracy in data entry and organization
  • Completing and maintaining IRB-related documentation
  • Facilitating and coordinating research activities within the Hand Surgery division
  • Conducting data collection for retrospective studies using EPIC
  • Conducting thorough literature searches to aid new studies or manuscript preparation
  • Fostering collaboration with faculty, fellows, residents, and administrative research staff
  • Capturing surgical technique videos to enrich research resources

Position Requirements

  • Undergraduate college degree by position start date in May 2024
  • Attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with subjects and staff
  • Familiarity with data management/analysis programs, including Microsoft Excel, SPSS, REDCap, and Research Navigator a plus
  • Experience with electronic medical records a plus

Time Commitment
Full-time, with a commitment of one year
