Position Description
Weill Cornell Medicine OBGYN department is looking to hire a clinical research coordinator. The primary focus would be on a study of fetal and neonatal alloimmune thrombocytopenia (FNAIT), one the most serious causes of fetal thrombocytopenia and can result in intracranial hemorrhage. The main responsibility with this current study is to screen all pregnant women in the clinic to attempt to identify those at risk for FNAIT before they have an affected fetus/newborn. 

This study involves direct contact with Dr Emilie Vander Haar, a Maternal-Fetal-Medicine specialist, and Dr. James Bussel, a specialist in immune thrombocytopenia. The FNAIT screening study and other FNAIT projects involve high risk and standard Obstetrics, Neonatology, Pediatrics, Immunology and both Pediatric and Adult Hematology. In addition to working on FNAIT, there would be exposure to a range of research projects within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Weill Cornell Medicine – NY Presbyterian Hospital. Two of three coordinators over the past two years of this study have had five publications on their way to medical school.
