Position Description
The Division of Environmental Pediatrics at NYU Grossman School of Medicine is offering an exciting opportunity to join their team as a research associate. Environmental Pediatrics is a research group that studies the effect of environmental exposures on reproduction and child health, mainly through the NYU Children's Health and Environment Study (NYU CHES), an ongoing NIH-funded pregnancy and child health cohort; the NYC Study of Fertility and Environmental Exposures (NYC FREE), a cohort of reproductive-aged adults; and related ancillary studies. 

This position will involve a variety of research and administrative activities that support a faculty member’s growing program of work in these areas. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate on publications and presentations, to attend divisional meetings, and to develop skills related to data analysis and study management.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Helping to develop and carry out pilot projects, which may include drafting protocols, administering data collection in REDCap, obtaining informed consent, communicating with participants throughout recruitment and follow-up, and scheduling clinic visits
  • Performing data entry, cleaning, and abstraction
  • Performing limited biospecimen-related activities, including pulling specimens from freezers and aliquoting samples for lab processing
  • Assisting with data analysis
  • Submitting study protocols/modifications to the IRB and following through to approval
  • Performing background research for idea and grant development
  • Helping draft/edit/proofread grans and manuscripts
  • Participating as a dedicated and collaborative member of a large research team

Position Requirements

  • B.S. or B.A. in Biomedical Sciences, Public Health, or a related subject
  • Prior research experience a plus
  • Master of Public Health (MPH) a plus

Time Commitment
Full-time, minimum two-year commitment
