Position Description
Dr. Cameron Carter's Translational Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience (TCAN) laboratory at the University of California, Davis seeks a research assistant for the Pathophysiologically Informed Biomarkers for Treatment Response In Psychosis (PIB) study.
Responsibilities include:
- Using knowledge of mental health conditions to recruit research participants
- Conducting phone evaluations to determine study eligibility of potential participants
- Consenting study participants, scheduling all research appointments, and monitoring progress through the study procedures
- Conducting clinical interviews for research purposes under the supervision of a faculty member and conducting behavioral testing sessions and MRI scan sessions
- Managing study IRB protocols, adhering strictly to privacy and confidentiality laws
- Managing data collection and organization, including mentoring undergraduate volunteers in the input of data to multiple databases
Position Requirements
- Must have a bachelor's degree in psychology, psychobiology, neuroscience, computer science, or a related field
- Experience collecting and organizing data
- Fluency in Spanish a plus
- Previous experience working with adolescents and young adults with psychiatric disorders a plus
- Computer programming experience (R, Python, Matlab) a plus
Time Commitment
Full-time, with a one-year commitment, two-year commitment preferred.
