Position Description
The Yale School of Medicine's Neuromuscular division is recruiting research associates to join their groups for a one-year position (with potential extension of another year) starting fall 2023. Their investigators are interested in all aspects of the management of patients with neuromuscular disorders.

Responsibilities include:

  • Involvement in the Muscular Dystrophy Association Neuromuscular Observational Research (MOVR) Data Hub Protocol, including screening patients, collecting and entering outcomes data and patient health information
  • Managing ongoing investigator-initiated research studies related to neuromuscular diseases and helping patients to get recruited in clinical trials from the adult MDA clinic at Yale
  • Involvement in ongoing clinical research projects and clinical trials, including sample and data collection, processing, and analysis

Opportunities for grant writing, abstract and manuscript preparation, and to present at conferences. Research associates will gain extensive clinical experience by interacting with ambulatory patients with neuromuscular diseases and working collaboratively with the medical team and the physicians. You are welcome and encouraged to attend department conferences, lectures, and rounds. Their program has a strong record of preparing associates for medical school and beyond.

Position Requirements

  • Highly motivated and able to multitask
  • Strong academic record
  • Skills in databases and analyses
  • Competency in basic statistics and programming (e.g. R, Python, SPSS, or SAS) a plus

Time Commitment
Full time, with a minimum commitment of one year
