Position Description
The Center for Global Health at Weill Cornell Medical College invites applications for a two-year global health research fellowship position based in New York, NY and offering unique opportunities to participate in global health research and program development. Their work focuses on global health research in the areas of HIV and chronic diseases (such as cardiovascular disease) in Haiti, Africa, and India as well as studies in clinical epidemiology, clinical trials, and implementation science. The research assistant will report to Dr. Margaret McNairy, Associate Professor of Medicine in the Weill Cornell Center for Global Health, and work with a team of research staff, students, fellows, and faculty in New York and at our international sites principally in Haiti. They will participate in scientific activities in multiple global health projects including study design and implementation, data analyses, manuscript preparation, dissemination, and development of proposals.
Responsibilities Include:
- Creating meeting agendas and documentation
- Data cleaning and quality assurance
- Survey design
- Database and dataset management
- Performing literature reviews
- Preparation of study forms
- Research staff training
- IRB study management
- Assisting with grant proposal development
Position Requirements
- Fluency in English
- Undergraduate degree
- Interest in global health/and or chronic disease research
- Prior experience in a resource-poor country a plus
- Proficiency in French or Haitian Creole a plus
- Experience in R a plus
Time Commitment
Full-time, minimum one-year commitment
