Position Description
The Columbia University Fertility Center is seeking an IVF lab assistant. The lab assistant would work at the heart of the center in the embryology laboratory, where gametes (eggs and sperm) are combined to create pre-implantation embryos under strictly controlled conditions. This is an opportunity ideal for anyone interested in a gap year or two before going to medical school or graduate school. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining the critical environment necessary to support human embryo growth
  • Managing the overall operations of the laboratory
  • Overseeing quality control
  • Aliquoting media
  • Organizing and stocking supplies
  • Cleaning
  • Completing data entry
  • Filing

  • Providing administrative support
