Position Description
The Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Boston Shoulder Institute is seeking to hire a pre-medical student for the position of Clinical Research Coordinator. This position offers the opportunity for education and hands-on learning in the medical field, research assistants closely working with physicians and Boston Shoulder Institute fellows. Surgical cases include total shoulder arthroplasty, reverse shoulder arthroplasty, rotator cuff repair, labral repair, and tendon transfers. Past research assistants have had the opportunity to be published authors in peer-reviewed orthopedic journals.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Commuting to both hospital locations in Boston and Waltham for the duration of the position
  • Helping physicians in both the clinic and the operating room

Position Requirements

  • Strong academic record
  • Must be creative, self-driven, and reliable, with a motivation to learn
  • Background in statistics a plus

Time Commitment
Full-time (1-2 days in the OR, 1-2 days in clinic, 1-2 days in office)
