Position Description
Dr. Tatyana Kushner is looking for a full-time Clinical Research Coordinator to assist with two projects:
1. Evaluating the impact of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease on pregnancy outcomes - a prospective protocol
2. Understanding regional practices around screening and linkage to care of patients with delta hepatitis
The Clinical Research Coordinator will collaborate closely with Dr. Kushner (PI) and a multidisciplinary research team, to plan, track and achieve operational study goals including patient recruitment, data management, achieving target accrual, and producing scholarly output.
Responsibilities include:
- Screening and enrolling study candidates.
- Collecting and recording study data into REDCap.
- Collecting patient specimen
- Evaluating liver health utilizing technology including transient elastography
- Meeting with participants after the consent process to review study requirements, and answer additional questions.
- Assisting in the activities related to clinical research studies including but not limited to: completing visit checklists and answering protocol-clarifying questions
- Ensuring future visits are scheduled and patients are aware of upcoming appointments.
- Assisting in preparing new and continuing review submissions as well as progress reports to sponsors and institutional regulatory bodies such as the IRB and Grants and Contracts Office.
- Ensuring accurate and complete compilation of subject data through chart reviews.
- Securing, delivering and shipping clinical specimens as required by the protocol.
- Performing other related duties as required.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or training in health-related scientific discipline ideally with background in epidemiology, biostatistics, and/or public health as well as knowledge of data management
- One or more years of experience in research in a hospital and/or academic environment is a plus
- Outstanding professionalism and excellent ability to communicate with varying levels of leadership and diverse team of practitioners
- Spanish language ability is a plus
