Position Description
The Corrine Goldsmith Dickinson Center for Multiple Sclerosis within the Department of Neurology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is seeking to hire a Clinical Research Coordinator. The Clinical Research Coordinator position is full-time (37.5 hours/week) and primarily on-site (5 E 98th St, NY, NY 10029). 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Screen participants for study eligibility.
  • Recruit referred eligible patients after appointments and via phone/email.
  • Educate/schedule eligible & interested patients & organize/coordinate/prepare study visits.
  • Obtain informed consent.
  • Conduct study visits.
  • Collect, record, maintain, and organize study data and regulatory documents.
  • Escort research participants to and from research MRIs, nursing services, lumbar punctures, etc.
  • Secure, preprocess, deliver, and ship clinical specimens.
  • Verify & submit participant reimbursements, purchase orders for lab supplies & invoices.
  • IRB/GCO submissions, amendments, renewals & assistance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Attend weekly journal club and case conferences, if desired.

Position Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required in sciences or closely related fields.
  • Past research (hospital or academic) experience; clinical trials experience preferred.
  • 2 year commitment. Great opportunity for students desiring a gap period between undergrad and medical school.
