Position Description
The Yale School of Medicine Neurology Department's Neuromuscular Division is recruiting research associates. The team's investigators are interested in all aspects of the management of patients with neuromuscular disorders, and the successful candidate will help manage the NIH-funded EXPLORE-MG2 (Exploring Outcomes and Characteristics of Myasthenia Gravis 2).
Research associates gain extensive clinical experience by interacting with ambulatory patients with MG and other neuromuscular diseases and working collaboratively with the medical team, and are welcome and encouraged to attend department conferences, lectures, and rounds.
This program also provides the opportunity for grant-writing, abstract and manuscript preparation, and presentation at conferences, and has a strong record of preparing associates for medical school and beyond.
Responsibilities include:
- Screening patients, collecting biosamples, and collecting and entering outcomes data and patient health information
- Managing ongoing investigator-initiated research studies, including studies examining immune-mediated neurological diseases
- Participating in ongoing clinical research projects and clinical trials, including data collection and analysis
Position Requirements
- Interest in the neurosciences
- Highly motivated and able to multi-task, managing a broad variety of duties and shifting priorities in a dynamic environment
- Strong academic record
- Skills in databases and analyses
- Competency in basic statistics and programming (e.g., R, Python, SPSS, SAS) a plus
Time Commitment
Full-time, with a minimum commitment of one year
