The Sansing Laboratory at the Yale School of Medicine

Position Description
The Sansing Laboratory is recruiting clinical research associates to join their group for a two-year position starting summer 2023.

The Sansing Lab studies the responses of the immune system after acute brain injuries, including stroke and intracerebral hemorrhage, a devastating type of stroke that occurs when a blood vessel within the brain ruptures. The overall goal of their research is to discover fundamental mechanisms of neuroinflammation and identify new, therapeutic targets that modulate immune responses to maximize recovery.

Postgrads in the lab get excellent training in translational stroke research, processing human biospecimens and leading their own projects with the mentorship of Dr. Sansing and postdoctoral fellows. The program has a strong record of preparing associates for medical school, physician-scientist training, and beyond.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing translational research projects using animal models and cell culture systems
  • Collecting and analyzing data
  • Writing grants
  • Preparing abstracts and manuscripts
