Position Description
CACC at Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic candidate to join their team as a full-time Clinical Research Associate. The successful candidate will work closely with Dr. Nir Uriel and the research team on a variety of research projects in the realm of advanced heart failure, mechanocirculatory support, and heart transplantation. As part of a dynamic research environment, the ideal candidate should be adaptable to fast-paced changes in responsibilities, workloads, and schedules.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Generating research questions, gathering data from the electronic medical record and/or clinical registries, and recruiting participants for investigator-related trials
  • Performing biostatistical analyses of clinical data to answer research questions
  • Providing biostatistical support to other members of the research team
  • Maintaining effective communication with the research team, providing regular updates on progress and challenges
  • Preparing scientific abstracts and article manuscripts for submission to academic conferences and journals
  • Providing support in any way as needed to ensure smooth operation of the research team

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. biomedical sciences, public health, biomedical engineering, computer science, or a related discipline)
  • At least one year of prior research experience with a significant data analysis component
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Python, R, SPSS, or SAS
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Familiarity with cardiovascular research a plus
  • Experience with biostatistical analysis a plus
  • Prior abstract/journal publications a plus
  • Experience working with patients in a hospital setting

Time Commitment
Full-time, with two-year commitment
