Position Description
The Abate-Shen laboratory in the Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Therapeutics at Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking to recruit research assistants as part of their research team. Research in the Abate-Shen laboratory is focused on cancer biology, with an emphasis on the generation and analyses of mouse models of cancer. This is an excellent opportunity for graduating seniors seeking gap year opportunities, as well as for undergraduates seeking part-time research opportunities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting post-doctoral members of the lab with computational analyses of different types of biological data in a wide range of projects related to understanding the transcriptome features of prostate and bladder cancer by interrogating mouse models and evaluating their association with human prostate cancer.

Position Requirements

  • Being well-versed in computational and statistical analyses applied to biological research
  • Basic understanding of standard techniques and tools to analyze bioinformatics data
