The School of General Studies of Columbia University is the finest liberal arts college in the United States created specifically for returning and nontraditional studentsthose with a break of a year or more in their educational pathsseeking a rigorous, traditional, Ivy League undergraduate degree full or part time.

GS is also home to the Postbaccalaureate Premedical Program, the Joint Program with Jewish Theological Seminary and the Dual BA Program Between Columbia University and Sciences Po.

Applicants to the School of General Studies with no SAT or ACT scores, or no scores within the last eight years, may take the General Studies Admissions Exam (GSAE).
