Event Title:
Social Justice at Work: Poverty Is Not One-dimensional, and Neither are the Poor

Join us for an exciting presentation with education advocate and community development agent, GS alumna Atti Worku ’14. As the Founder and CEO of Seeds of Africa, Atti will share her organization’s three-pronged approach to poverty alleviation: one that focuses on social services provision, personal development through education, and challenging stereotypes about poverty in the continent of Africa. Students will hear from Atti about her journey as well as how they can learn about addressing these issues as a student. Social Justice at Work is speaker series which aims to connect students to working professionals who create positive change through their careers. Through discussion and sharing of life experiences, students learn about the practical applications of social justice in their current and future career paths and in their everyday lives.
