I learned about the Postbac Premed Program from a friend's father who earned both his Ph.D. and M.D. from Columbia University. During his time as a student, he became well acquainted with the Postbac Premed Program, and its benefits for students such as me with non-science backgrounds.
When I made the decision to apply to the program, I found that I could start in the spring on the accelerated track. Taking this course allowed me to work for an additional four months and save the money that I knew I would need to afford life in New York City. As a student, the accelerated track allowed me (or rather forced me) to get a handle on my premedical studies fast, which also helped prepare me for starting medical school a year early through the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons linkage admissions agreement.
