These gifts took us well past our ambitious goal of $250,000 that will further help us support scholarships for current and future GS students. Additionally, after adding $7,700 in challenge funds from University Trustees, our grand total ascended to $330,226.

Giving Day is an annual online fundraising event that encourages alumni, students, parents, and friends of the University to come together to support their favorite schools and programs and help them win prizes in matching funds. October 24th marked Columbia University's seventh annual Giving Day.

The GS Community came together on Giving Day at a celebration in the GS Lounge hosted by the GS Student Life and the Office of Development and Alumni Relations. This celebration brought the GS community, of both yesterday and today, together to focus their sights on the GS community of tomorrow. Student attendees were entered into a raffle to win some great GS swag, and had the opportunity to decide how funds from an anoymous donor were allocated.

The donations from alumni, students, parents, and friends of GS and the rest of the University made the seventh annual Columbia Giving Day a huge success! As a whole, Columbia University raised $20,155,293 from 17,103 gifts. Columbia Giving Day gifts also contributed to the Columbia Commitment, the University's 5 year, 5 billion dollar campaign to invest in faculty, students and research. Along with the rest of the University, gifts from the GS community will help us change lives that change the world.
