Dean Rosen-Metsch Shares Vision for GS at Mid-Winter Alumni Mixer

On February 23, GS held its annual Mid-Winter Mixer at Upper Story in Manhattan. The event, which featured remarks by the new Dean of the School of General Studies, Lisa Rosen-Metsch ’90GS, is the School’s largest networking event of the year.

GS alumni of all ages mingled while enjoying an evening of drinks, hors-d’oeuvres, and breathtaking views of the City—and for some, it was an opportunity to meet Dean Rosen-Metsch for the first time.

“Fifty-three days in, my vision—going forward—is to make sure that GS continues to be the special, wonderful, spectacular school that it is—the best school in the Ivy League,” Dean Rosen-Metsch said.

Dean Rosen-Metsch—an alumna of the Joint Program with List College of the Jewish Theological Seminary who went on to complete her doctoral studies at the University of Florida—truly understands the ways in which nontraditional students are unique, and expressed her desire to continue working with alumni to ensure their connection with GS continues well after graduation. She went on to reaffirm GS’s commitment to serving such an incredibly diverse student population, describing GS as a school that others look to as a model for nontraditional, elite undergraduate education.

“This is my school, this is your school, and I want to work with you to continue to make GS the spectacular school that it is,” Dean Rosen-Metsch said.
