Program Details & Requirements

  • The program requires that students complete 3-6 hours/week of service at their assigned organization, and participate in two group meetings over the course of the semester. These gatherings provide unique opportunities to discuss GTE experience with peers and to engage further with the theme of immigration. Past gatherings have included a citizenship naturalization ceremony and opportunities to network with immigrant activists and non-profit leaders. Details and dates for the Spring 2021 meetings will be posted on this site once confirmed.
  • Students participating in GTE commit to one semester of service (Spring 2021).
  • Program testimonials from former GTE participants are available here.
  • As an experiential learning initiative, please note that GTE is non-credit-bearing.
