The Columbia University Varsity Show is one of the University’s oldest traditions. Founded in 1894 in order to raise funds for athletic programs, the unique, full-length theatrical production is conceptualized, written, and produced entirely by students every year.
The 2007 show, the 113th, will for the first time feature a General Studies student in its principal cast. Mark Rosenthal, GS ’07, is a Drama and Theatre Arts major.
"We are extremely lucky and excited to have him," said Geoffrey Karapetyan and Olivia Gorvy, the satire’s producers.
The Varsity Show opens Friday, April 27 and runs through Sunday, April 29, with performances at 8 PM in the evening. Additionally, there is a matinee at 2 PM on Sunday, April 29. Shows are played in Roone Arledge Auditorium. Tickets may be purchased at the Lerner Hall box office.
