As she spans the world in her international politics class, Lydia Walker’s pirouette is not getting rusty.  A GS student and former professional ballerina, Walker found herself with many opportunities for ballet classes, but without opportunities to perform.  Along with her GS classmates and fellow professional ballerinas, Ashley Flood, Emily Hayden, Larissa Higgins and Victoria North, Walker formed the Columbia Ballet Collaborative, the first student group to offer ballet dancers a chance to practice and perform on campus.

The Columbia Ballet Collaborative was recently featured in “Time Out: New York” at http://www.timeout.com/newyork/articles/dance/24936/ballet-u.
