West Point Professor Receives Latino Young Alumni Award

GS alumna Dr. Elizabeth V. Velilla '02 was recently awarded the Latino Alumni Association of Columbia University's Young Alumni Award for her work as the youngest and first Latina assistant dean and director of research operations at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Velilla, who was recognized for this honor at the 16th Annual El Regreso gala on March 28 at Low Memorial Library, also serves as assistant professor in the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Leadership. 

After earning her B.A. in psychology from GS, Velilla attended The CUNY Graduate Center where she received her Ph.D. in social personality psychology.
