New Student Scholarship Application

Please use this application to be considered for School of General Studies Institutional Scholarship Awards. This application should only be used by new students and applicants to the GS undergraduate program. Continuing students must submit the Continuing Student Scholarship Application.

Note: This form is not applicable to Postbac Premed students. Postbac Premed Program students should seek information about institutional aid on the Postbac Premed website.

In order to fill out this application completely, you must have an official Columbia University Identification number (CUID) that is issued to you by email within five days of having submitted the School of General Studies Application for Admission. If you have not received your unique CUID, please call the Office of Admissions at 800-895-1169.

You may not save your application and return to it at a future time. The final question of this application is an optional brief statement. Because it is not possible for you to save your work and return to this application at a later time, we suggest that you prepare your statement in advance by composing it in a word processing program. If you experience any technical issues while using the application, please email gs-admit@columbia.edu and provide your name and as much detail as possible about the issues you are experiencing. 

Additionally, all applicants who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents are required to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

An asterisk (*) after a question indicates that the answer is required to submit the application.
