Financial Aid Timeline for Current Students

Deadlines

May 1

Complete the GS Scholarship Application.

May 1

If you are applying for a GS scholarship, complete the Columbia University Planned Enrollment Form.

You must also complete one of the following:

May 1

To be considered for Federal SEOG, Federal Perkins, and Federal Work-Study complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Columbia University Planned Enrollment Form.

June 1

If you are applying for federal or state aid but NOT a GS scholarship, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Columbia University Planned Enrollment Form.

End of Change of Program Period for Fall  Semester*

New York State residents attending part-time: submit the APTS (Aid for Part-Time Study) application, available in 408 Lewisohn.

* Students not enrolled in the Fall Semester may submit the APTS application by the end of the Spring Semester Change of Program period.

June 30

New York State residents: complete the TAP (Tuition Assistance Program) application.

Note: June 30, 2018 is the final deadline for TAP consideration; however, students are encouraged to apply between January and June to ensure that funds will be available at the beginning of the fall semester, since application processing can take from six to eight weeks.

Federal Verification Deadline

April

Students who have been awarded federal financial aid, and have been selected for Verification, must complete the Verification process no later than the last week of April of the current school year. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of all federal financial aid for the academic year.
 
Students should review the Documents Tab of the Online Financial Aid System to review which specific Verification documents they must submit.
