Position Description
The Concord Baptist Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brooklyn, NY is seeking volunteer clinical interns to assist with wound care rounds led by a general surgeon. Interns will be exposed to a wide variety of wounds afflicting patients and learn about wound etiologies and treatments including wound stages, anatomy, and surgical procedures. Interns will also learn about various other medical cases during the weekly end-of-rounds lecture presented by the attending physician.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assisting the general surgeon during examinations and surgical procedures
- Recording wound dimensions, descriptions, and treatments
Position Requirements
- Must be able to attend the entire duration of rounds every Thursday for six consecutive months
Time Commitment
Part-time, (every Thursday 7:50 a.m. - 2 p.m.), with a minimum commitment of six consecutive months.
