Position Description
Lumos Dermatology is seeking a medical assistant.
Responsibilities include:
- Interviewing patients concerning their visit
- Following up on lab tests and prescriptions
- Setting up biopsies
- Assisting in minor skin surgeries and laser procedures
- Answering and triaging phone calls
- Scheduling appointments
- Checking in patients
- Verifying insurance
Position Requirements
- Must be enrolled in, or have completed, pre-medical studies (either in the premedical track of a program granting a bachelor's degree or a postbaccalaureate premedical program)
Time Commitment
Part-time (8-20 hours per week, with availability on Saturdays and some weekdays), with a commitment of one year
Compensation
Initial training period is volunteer/course credit up to 80 hours, and thereafter is course credit and pays $15 per hour.
