Position Description
NYU Children's Health and Environment Study (NYU CHES) is a pregnancy cohort by NYU School of Medicine (NYUSoM). The study is based upon a decade-long history of successful observational and interventional studies that recruit pregnant women at NYUSoM affiliates. Beginning in the first trimester of pregnancy, NYU CHES has recruited and enrolled over 2000 women from diverse populations served by NYU Tisch, Bellevue, and NYU Brooklyn. NYU CHES postnatal is the pediatric follow up phase. The organization is seeking an intern to help us assist in the recruitment and follow up process. This internship opportunity may fulfill a practicum requirement.

Responsibilities include

  • Attending orientation and other necessary trainings 
  • Conducting outreach and assisting in the recruitment process
  • Screening patients and participants for eligibility and scheduling initial visits
  • Administering questionnaires to study participants, including those with limited English proficiency 
  • Assisting in the collection, processing and shipping of biospecimens
  • Assisting staff during study visits with enrolled parents and their babies 
  • Performing data entry and assisting in data analysis

Position requirements

  • Must be able to travel to various locations throughout New York City  
  • Must be available on weekdays, weekends, evenings and/or holidays 
  • Must have a BA,MA, MPH, or MD
  • Spanish and or Chinese language skills, a plus 

Time Commitment
Part-time, 3 months up to one year with approximately 10-15 hours per week.
