Position Description
The Uhlemann Lab of the Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a research technician to provide general research support in translational research on the human microbiome, drug resistance, and pathogenesis of bacterial infections.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting experiments, analyzing results, and maintaining scientific records
  • Carrying out standard procedures for protocols
  • Performing microbiological and molecular biology techniques including DNA/RNA isolation, RT-PCR, library preparations, and whole genome sequencing under supervision
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment, complying with laboratory safety regulations, and providing quality control
  • Performing other related duties necessary to the functioning of the laboratory and its research projects

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, physics, or related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Prior research experience a plus

Time Commitment
Full-time (35 hours per week)

Compensation
$50,329.13 per year
