Position Description
Dr. Anne-Catrin Uhelmann’s lab at CUMC in the Division of Infectious Diseases is looking for a full-time research technician B position. The Technician B will provide general research support in the lab carrying out translational research on the human microbiome, drug resistance, and pathogenesis of bacterial infections. There will also be opportunities to participate in ongoing COVID-19 related research projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting experiments, analyzing results, and maintaining scientific records
  • Carrying out standard procedures for protocols
  • Performing microbiological and molecular biology techniques including DNA isolation, sequencing, cloning and in vitro drug resistance assays under supervision
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment, complying with laboratory safety regulations, and providing quality control
  • Performing other related duties necessary to the functioning of the laboratory and its research projects

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, physics or related science or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Prior research experience a plus

Full-time

Compensation
$888.97 per week
