Position Description
The Columbia University School of Nursing Office of Scholarship and Research Development is seeking a research coordinator for a grant-funded position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing strategies to recruit study subjects for participation in activities and data collection
  • Coordinating the study team projects, developing educational materials (e.g. Standard Operating Procedures, consent forms, Qualtrics/REDCap surveys, etc), convening meetings, and keeping the projects moving on a day-to-day basis
  • Communicating with external collaborators about project activities
  • Assisting with database design, security, data storage and management
  • Conducting and writing literature reviews to support grant applications and manuscripts
  • Participating, with minimal supervision, in progress reports, data entry, and IRB protocol modifications/submissions
  • Providing daily support for technical and research tasks to research associates and research assistants, including phone, screening, and enrollment/retention related trainings
  • Performing basic quantitative analysis of study data
  • Performing other related duties as assigned

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Masters degree a plus
  • At least three (3) years of related experience or equivalent in education, training and experience
  • Fluent Spanish speaker
  • Experience with vulnerable populations and certified training in HIPAA Compliance and Human Subjects protection
  • Interest in the development of health information technology and/or public health a plus
  • Proficiency in SPSS/SAS/R/STATA a plus
  • An established record of working with confidential data and maintaining confidentiality, privacy and integrity in professional interactions a plus.
  • Working knowledge of REDCap, Qualtrics, and EndNote a plus
