Position Description
The Center for Health Innovations and Outcomes Research is seeking 1 - 2 students to intern at their Center, which leverages big data and incorporates cutting-edge technologies to deliver innovative healthcare solutions to improve healthcare delivery. Interns will work under the guidance of a faculty mentor and will have the opportunity to be exposed to research conducted in one or more settings, such as outpatient, inpatient, and/or community settings. Interns will gain an understanding of the research process and may participate in study design, patient recruitment, data collection, data analysis, and/or dissemination of results.
Responsibilities Include
- Conducting related study procedures, such as patient recruitment and data collection
- Submitting and manage research-related documents, such as IRB paperwork
- Communicating and coordinate tasks with study team members and administrative contacts
- Managing and preparing data for analysis
- Preparing poster and/or oral presentations
- Contributing to the writing of abstracts, manuscripts, and grant applications

Providing administrative support to the team, including scheduling and preparing for meetings, trainings, and presentations
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from any U.S. college or university
- Strong academic record
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of statistics
- Demonstrated interest in public health and/or medicine
Time Commitment
Full-time; start and completion dates somewhat flexible. Full-time, 12 month commitment preferred, but other schedule arrangements will be considered.
With advanced notice, interns may take as many days off (without pay) as needed to visit graduate/medical schools for interviews. Opportunities to extend employment beyond the 12 month period will be considered.
Compensation
$19.5 per hour (starting salary)
