Position Description
Brigham and Women’s Hospital Amputation Research Program is seeking a clinical research coordinator to conduct clinical research on a cutting-edge surgical procedure developed by Dr. Matt Carty of Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Dr. Hugh Herr of MIT.

Responsibilities include:

  • Orienting new and potential subjects to our clinical trials
  • Shepherding enrolled patients through the various study-related encounters. This may also include assisting patients with insurance-related issues and travel arrangements
  • Administering questionnaires regarding limb function and quality of life 
  • Serving as a liaison between subjects and PI/program manager and between subjects and other hospital administrative staff 
  • Participating in subject clinic visits and procedures 
  • Collecting and maintaining patient information and study data
  • Maintaining subjects’ records and researching study regulatory documentation 
  • Performing research billing activities
  • Assisting with compliance with the Partners IRB and other federal and institutional guidelines 
  • Managing daily clinical research protocols, as assigned 
  • Coordinating study activities, transfer of information, and other necessary study related items between multiple study sites (WR/MIT) and regulatory bodies 
  • Ensuring proper communication between different disciplines participating in the research. Organizing meetings, dinners, etc.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Demonstrated interest in clinical research
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, REDCap, and basic computer literacy skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and oral and written communication skills
  • Careful attention to detail  
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize a variety of tasks and demonstrated proactivity in completing tasks
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism and respect for subject’s rights, privacy, and individual needs
  • Interest in two-year commitment or more a plus 
  • Prior experience working with patients a plus 
  • Prior experience with data collection/management in a clinical setting a plus

Time Commitment
Full-time (40 hours per week)
