Position Description
The Columbia University Division of Cardiology is seeking a full-time clinical lab technician and research associate to work at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center. The successful applicant will work closely with their cardiology attendings and other members of the healthcare team to provide quality care to patients. On-the-job training will be provided.

This position also offers opportunities to contribute to clinical research projects, including FDA-approved clinical trials, and to publish clinical research papers in medical journals.

Responsibilities include:

• Obtaining patient history from electronic medical records
• Contacting patients to schedule appointments or answer questions
• Setting up EKGs
• Taking vital signs
• Running stress tests on patients diagnosed with heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, congenital heart disease, and other cardiovascular disorders

• Report generation, maintenance of exercise databases, and general laboratory maintenance including troubleshooting and ordering supplies as needed

Position Requirements

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Working knowledge of Excel
• Familiarity with Python a plus
• Familiarity with EKG patterns and the ability to identify normal and abnormal findings a plus, but training will be provided as needed

Time Commitment
Full-time (35 hours per week beginning in late May 2023) in addition to a minimum of 15 hybrid training hours

Compensation
$43K plus benefits
