Vitt, MD is seeking an administrative assistant to support his HIV-prevention office. Responsibilities include: Greeting and welcome patients to the office Maintaining absolute patient confidentiality and discretion in accordance with professional expectations as well as HIPAA policy Answering phone calls, emails, questions, etc. in a prompt and polite manner Managing patient scheduling, onboard new patients, and managing new patient inquiries Handling payments accurately and responsibly Entering patient information and scan, update, and file medical records accurately Communicating with patients, pharmacies, laboratories and other offices under doctor’s guidance Assisting patients with coordination of care and navigation of the healthcare bureaucracy Coordinating laboratory specimens for send-out Helping maintain a clean, courteous, and professional working environment Organizing and maintaining supplies Assisting with appropriate clinical matters when necessary Assisting with website content and possibly small research/writing projects Possibly assisting with phlebotomy (blood-drawing) Position Requirements Interest in the healthcare/mental health professions (e.g. pre-med, post-bacc, pre-nursing, pre-PA, pre-therapist/psychology/social work, etc.) Interest in HIV Treatment and Prevention and Gay Men’s Health, Travel Medicine, Humanism in Medicine Recent undergraduate degree in any field Computer/IT proficiency Ability to speak Mandarin a plus Follow COVID-19 infection control precautions Be immunized against standard communicable diseases (including but not limited to COVID-19 and Influenza) before starting the job Time Commitment Full-time, with one-year commitment starting in Spring 2021 Compensation TBD Apply To apply, please send your resume and a cover letter to email@example.com.
