Prospective Students

As a Dual BA Program student you’ll begin your college education by spending two years at one of three Sciences Po campuses, each of which is devoted to a particular region of the world and offers a heavy linguistic and cultural focus:

  • Le Havre — located on the Normandy Coast and focusing on Asia, with language instruction in Chinese, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, and Korean;

  • Menton — located on the French Riviera and focusing on the Mediterranean countries and the Middle East, with language instruction in Arabic*, Hebrew, Italian, Spanish, and Turkish;

  • Reims — located in the Champagne region and focusing on North America, with language instruction in English, French, German, and Spanish.

*Students in Menton follow an academic program that attaches special significance to studying social sciences of the Middle East and Mediterranean regions, including a commitment to learning Arabic, a required language of study for all students on the campus for a minimum of the first year of the program.

About half of each campus’ student body comes from the region of focus, with other international and French students comprising the other half, ensuring that you will be part of a diverse campus community. Courses are taught in English, with additional instruction provided in French and the living languages spoken in the region of focus.

All campuses follow Sciences Po’s interdisciplinary social sciences curriculum, which offers instruction in the following disciplines:

  • Economics
  • History
  • Law
  • Political Science
  • Sociology

After completing the Sciences Po curriculum, you and your fellow Dual BA students will matriculate at Columbia University School of General Studies (GS). During your time at GS, you’ll further your study of the social sciences by completing the requirements for a major while also cultivating intellectual breadth by fulfilling Core distribution requirements in a variety of disciplines, including literature, art, music, science, and the humanities.

As a Columbia student you’ll be part of a vibrant campus environment numbering 23,000 students, with access to abundant extracurricular options on campus and beyond, as well as internship opportunities at the United Nations, the Council on Foreign Relations, on Wall Street, or in any of the many industries that call New York City home.

Upon completion of the program, you’ll graduate with two bachelor’s degrees, one each from Sciences Po and Columbia, and, like all Sciences Po alumni, you’ll be eligible for guaranteed admission to a Sciences Po graduate program. You’ll also be a member of the global alumni networks of two world-renowned universities, and well prepared for your next challenging endeavor.
