Former actress turned Postbac Premed student Molly Grassini and the Columbia University Postbac Premed Program were featured as a part of The New York Times Education Life article on April 15, 2012, about the increasing numbers of nontraditional students who are undertaking postbaccalaureate premedical programs.
Grassini, who attended New York University Tisch School of the Arts and acted professionally in Los Angeles, Cal., turned her focus towards a career in medicine after the loss of her brother and her experience volunteering at the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. Now in her second year of the Postbac Premed Program, Grassini volunteers at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Surgical Day Hospital and serves as a Postbac Premed Prrogram tour guide/ambassador. She plans to apply to medical schools this summer.
