Tickets
Each degree candidate is allotted four tickets to the Commencement Ceremony. Without tickets, your guests will not be able to enter the campus. The tickets are distributed by the GS Dean of Students Office. You must complete the GS Senior Survey before picking up your GS Graduation Packet, which includes your tickets.
If you are in the New York area, you may pick up your tickets at the GS Graduation Kickoff Event (Wednesday, April 24, 12:30-2 p.m. in the GS Lounge). If you cannot attend the Kickoff Event, you may pick up your tickets any time from Thursday, April 25 to Friday, May 17 at 12 p.m. in the Dean of Students office, 403 Lewisohn Hall.
If you are not in the New York area, you may authorize a friend to pick up your tickets on your behalf. To do so, please send an email to gsgraduation@columbia.edu with both your full name and your friend's full name in the body of the email and "Commencement Tickets Pickup" in the subject line. Your friend must have a valid ID in order to pick up tickets. Tickets cannot be mailed.
Should you require more tickets, you may enter the additional ticket lottery by emailing gsgraduation@columbia.edu with your full name, UNI, and the number of tickets you are requesting. Any unclaimed tickets, or surplus tickets returned to the Dean of Students Office, will be distributed in the lottery. The lottery will be conducted on May 17, and ticket recipients will be notified immediately. There is no guarantee that there will be extra tickets, or that graduates will be able to obtain all the tickets they need through the ticket lottery.
Tickets are not required for Class Day.
See Tickets for more specific information.
